Blackhawk Network CEO and President Talbott Roche Receives ‘2020 Woman in PayTech’ Award

PayTech Award series presented by FinTech Futures honors payments technology leaders for outstanding contributions to the industry

PLEASANTON, Calif. – November 11, 2020 – FinTech Futures, a digital publishing platform for the worldwide fintech community, has awarded Talbott Roche, CEO and president of global branded payments provider, Blackhawk Network, its “2020 Woman in PayTech” honor as part of its annual PayTech Award series. The award lauds an outstanding woman for her contributions to the fintech industry and who has exemplified exceptional, positive influence among her colleagues and peers.

“We congratulate Talbott Roche on winning this year’s Woman in Paytech Award. Her commendable leadership and inspiring work at Blackhawk Network, and—equally importantly—her positive impact on the wider payments services industry has made Talbott a deserved winner of this prestigious award,” said Tanya Andreasyan, editor-in-chief at FinTech Futures and a PayTech Awards judge.

Roche is a payments industry trailblazer who has made significant contributions to the space throughout her career. Her journey through the payments landscape began as one of the founding members of Blackhawk Network. Under her oversight, Blackhawk has grown into the global branded payments leader it is today boasting a vast network that includes more than 10,000 corporate B2B buyers and 200,000 global retail distribution points in 28 countries, including a presence in EMEA and APAC.

A tireless industry advocate, Roche has collaborated with other industry stakeholders to educate legislators and leadership in Washington, D.C. on the impact of legislation that could have adversely affected the industry, and helped to grow a trade association as part of these efforts.

“The fintech industry has transformed exponentially in the last few years, and even over the course of the last few months. As the industry continues to evolve, it is imperative for all of us seek out new ways to innovate and help spur growth that drives our industry forward,” said Roche. “Fintech is traditionally a male-dominated industry, and I appreciate that this award challenges that mentality and helps encourage other women like myself to champion ourselves, each other and our industry collectively.”

Roche has long advocated for the advancement of women in the workplace, believing that real change needs to be supported from the top of an organization in terms of recruiting, developing, retaining and promoting talented female leaders. She has been widely recognized for her industry achievements and has received accolades throughout each stage of her distinguished career in payments, including the Women in Payments’ 2020 Advocate for Women Award and being named to WomenInc.’s 2019 list of Most Influential Corporate Board Directors.
