Blackhawk Executive Head Shaves Raise Money for Cancer Research
June 11, 2014
Bald is beautiful when it helps raise much-needed funds to help fight childhood cancer, that’s why so many of our Blackhawk employees, plus their families and friends, volunteered to support St. Baldrick’s.
St. Baldrick’s is working to conquer childhood cancers by raising money for cancer research grants and treatment through unique events such as the ones our team participated in. This is the seventh year that Blackhawk employees have contributed to this charity both financially and with their hair – from long locks to eyebrows and even leg hair to help raise funds for this amazing cause. Blackhawk had staff from all over the U.S., plus and as far away as the UK and Australia, participated. Over the years, the Blackhawk team has contributed more than $50,000 towards St. Baldrick’s.
We’re proud to have so many of our team come together to accomplish something amazing that can make an incredible change in the lives of children who are battling cancer. And the need is very real: Worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes. In the U.S., one in five children diagnosed will not survive. And of those that survive, two out of three will suffer long-term effects after their treatment.
Please help us in thanking our Blackhawk shavees and supporters of this important cause! If you’d like to learn more about the St. Baldrick’s charity for kids who are battling cancer and their families, please follow this link.
