Blackhawk Raises More Money than Ever Before for St. Baldrick’s

For the past few years, Blackhawk Network has proudly been involved in supporting the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. The organization’s mission of findings cures for childhood cancers is one that is close to our hearts as many of our employees have a personal connection to cancer in some way.

This year, Blackhawk decided to step up its efforts and raise more money than ever before, and in true Blackhawk style, our employees rose to the occasion and got involved in a variety of creative ways.

On March 11, Blackhawk employees participated in a head shaving event at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland to help bring awareness and raise funds for St. Baldrick’s. A number of our team members—male and female—“rocked the bald” and bravely shaved their heads for this very worthy cause.

Blackhawk employees also lent their support by donating their vacation hours, employee recognition program points and even their unwanted gift cards. Blackhawk brand also got in on the action by offering a special commemorative card and donating proceeds from a portion of its sales to St. Baldrick’s. There was also a special online auction created where Blackhawk employees could bid on special items, including photography sessions, hotel stays, and even breakfast with Blackhawk’s CEO.

Our St. Baldrick’s efforts culminated in a special Old Hollywood-themed gala at the Blackhawk Museum on April 21. Blackhawk executives and employees, as well as its partners and vendors, gathered for an inspiring evening where they heard from local childhood cancer survivors and their families, and participated in a silent auction all in support of St. Baldrick’s.

In total, Blackhawk raised over $160,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation in 2017! Special thanks to all of our partners, vendors and employees for their generous support.
