Blackhawk Rocks the 2017 Livermore Half Marathon
April 4, 2017
On March 26, Blackhawk Network once again sponsored the annual Livermore Half Marathon. The race began in the historic downtown district of Livermore, Calif., and took runners through a course showcasing the area’s beautiful wine region. Over 70 Blackhawk employees participated this year, including Blackhawk’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer, Jerry Ulrich, and Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, Joan Lockie.
Blackhawk’s participants began race day bright and early on the patio of local restaurant, Sauced BBQ & Spirits, where they donned Blackhawk-branded shirts, headbands and wristbands and noshed on bagels, fruit and juice. After completing their choice of either the 5K or the Half Marathon, runners were presented with a commemorative wine glass and champagne, and were treated to delectable hors d’oeuvres from Sauced.
Blackhawk positioned a DJ at mile 10 to cheer the racers on with some tunes, and the runners were also able to enjoy a rockin’ post-race festival featuring local wineries, craft beer, artisan chefs and live music.
Congratulations to all of the Blackhawk employees who participated, and big cheers for our wonderful events team and volunteers!
